APPEARANCE:
Diendiatto stands firm with an almost intimidating presence. While not remarkably tall, there's never a slouch to him – ever. Always firm, always rigid with no slouching. There's very little soft about Diendiatto, except perhaps his dark hair. Trimmed mostly short at the back and sides, there's a larger poofed gathering towards the front that collects slightly over his eyes, but doesn't cover them. With thin shaped eyes and a low brow, Diendiatto always looks to be vaguely scowling or tight lipped. Very rarely are his toned arms, made strong from turns of farm work, in any position other than crossed or set on his hips.
Diendiatto isn't one for setting style, he wears the simple cotton pants and long shirts of farmers, with the occasional cap to mind his hair and the sun. Overall, Diendiatto rarely looks like he's ever having a good time. Usually looming towards the back, and relatively unimpressed, like he was forced to come to the party. He's a solid shaped guy, who'd look like he could tackle down someone much bigger than himself, and he would - given reason. He has a few scrapping scars scattered about, but nothing too noteworthy or eye-catching
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
The most important take away when dealing with Diendiatto is that he does not ask questions. Ever.
Even in situations where one should be expected to ask a question for ease or simplicity, Diendiatto merely makes a statement. ("What can I help with?" vs "You're supposed to give me a chore to do." etc) This tends to come off as rather arrogant and demanding, and you wouldn't be wrong to label Diendiatto those things. He's rather self-assured, but not in a show-boating type of way. To him, questions just seem annoying and for reasonably unintelligent people. He doesn't think himself a genius, but he has enough brains to where it matters. Plus, he feels he can strong-arm his way through most of life and all it's issues. He does use his noggin, and he's smart enough to generally know when to, but he's noticed being a bulldozer works more times than not. Atleast for things he tends to be involved with.
Diendiatto's main mentality on the matter is - Why should he ask what someone wants of him? They should just tell him and save the few pointless moments.
That's what it really comes down to - Diendiatto is just really efficient, or intends to be. He doesn't cut corners, and does his job proper, but it's very likely for him to be doing things in not the best way perhaps. He's willing to change if need be, but much of the time he just comes off as too gruff and firm that it may seem a fruitless endeavor to others.
Diendiatto is very much a stoic bodyguard type, but needs some points put into 'charming'. He really doesn't care much if people get put off by him - that's their issue not his. It's not like he's being a bastard or anything. (Sometimes, he absolutely can be a bastard if he wants to) Even if he doesn't necessarily go out of his way jump to the aid of others, he'll put in his share. Afterall, he's pretty self-assured. He's knows he's got decent strength, and it's not like he doesn't want or enjoy companions. He can be won over, it just might take the right kind of people to not be put off by his set ways. Or finding people that don't annoy him too much.

BIRTHPLACE: Cothold near Keroon Bay (but not directly on the water)
HISTORY:
Diendiatto came nestled right in the middle of a modest farming family. Not the oldest, and with one or two younger siblings scurrying after him. Rumor is, the moment he arrived in the world, he came out scowling and tight-lipped. Which is true, as he had no major life event to turn him into just the broad shouldered boulder he seemingly formed himself to be. Atleast concerning his personality, as constant farmwork can put muscle on anyone!
Being the middle child, Diendiatto didn't have to shoulder the expected mantle that came with being the first born. He had his responsibilities, and had little trouble aiding in the work of his sibling. As such, being older than others, he knew his way around responsibility and having to get things corrected when there was a screw up.
It's unclear where his penchant for 'no questions' really came from, but it definitely started early. In wishing to cut a few precious moments of daylight to get chores done, or having to find some way to get his voice heard among a busy and loud household. Though, if anyone asked him, Diendiatto would definitely probably putt that disapproved trait against his mother and younger siblings. His mother, though kind and loving, was generally a very 'flighty' type of woman. A dreamer and relatively forgetful person, spending time pondering on 'nothings' and asking questions people couldn't give a set answer to. Diendiatto could just never understand her in that regard, nor did he appreciate when she tried. The talks and questioning took precious time from his chores and inevitably his limited personal time. It only got worse when his younger siblings seemed to completely mimic it.
Even though Diendiatto didn't hate his mother and siblings, or even his Father and elder siblings for not seeing the issue of it, it was making Diendiatto exceptionally frustrated. It made him want to get away – not forever, but just enough so he didn't feel constantly bombarded with the crooning and daydreams and flighty, scatterbrained giggling. That he would just be stuck forever, surrounded and prickled to the point of bursting.
So of course, Diendiatto didn't ask permission or what his family thought on the matter. He merely decided to pack his things and announce he would be boarding a ship to the southern most settlements among Semaca. It was reasonable enough - he wasn't the oldest nor was the family short of available helping hands. Some of them would be expected to head out on their own at some point in time, so Diendiatto decided this would be his.
He would write, perhaps even attempt to visit if he found a way to. For the given moment, he just wanted to be left to do things as he wanted. Just himself and given the focus to work, and Semaca seemed to always need viable workers.
Perhaps he could even be seen as useful to the Weyr. He assumed they would let him know; afterall they were supposed to know and he wasn't one to ask questions.
