FULL APPEARANCE:
Vokonis has a triangular jawline underneath a grey-flecked beard, a slightly crooked nose, and beige skin. His thin frame comes from health problems he had when he was quite young (several mild bouts of pneumonia), yet never attempted to correct his weight as he aged. Despite this, he can be seen as a man of healthy weight with a warm disposition. He has no freckles, beauty marks or scars to be seen.
He loves his leather jacket and is very rarely seen without it, unless the weather is way too warm or cold to warrant it. Long-sleeved shirts, however, are a must, and when it gets warm he immediately rolls up the sleeves to account for overheating. If it gets cold, he just rolls the sleeves down.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Vokonis is a semi-strong-willed, helpful, warm man with a semi-soft coating of sarcasm and dry humor. Unafraid to speak his mind behind people's backs, even when his mind can get him into miles and piles of trouble, Voko is known for a soft voice with a loud mouth. He is sensible to a degree, sometimes when he gets going he just can't stop going, leading to his 'loud mouth' moments. He is intensly caring with everyone who treats him with the same respect, wanting to help and not harm.
He has been walked over before, and if it means that someone will get better, he will let them walk over him countless times more. Vokonis is a pushover who doesn't want to be one. Constantly trying to stand his ground, he falls flat at the first sign of violent confrontation and lets anyone who wants to take him and shove him into a corner of 'yeah, sure, of course, I'll do that for you'. Underneath his soft and weary soul is a temper set on low heat, eventually it is going to boil over and spill everywhere, but it is taking its sweet time to do so.

HISTORY:
Vokonis was the fifth of six children, he never expected to be at the forefront of his parents' attention at a given moment. His quiet voice fell somewhat into the background, but he didn't mind. He was always willing to be the background man for the larger personalities of the house. He got sick with mild pneumonia twice, and he enjoyed the attention that gave him (despite the pain that came with the sickness), but soon that faded away as he healed. He was good at keeping his thoughts to himself, but he stopped that when his little brother, Valisdion, came along. The two were joined at the hip, best friends through and through. When Voko did something, Valis did it too. Valis idolized his brother and his opinions, the two became secret comedians in their spare time, going back and forth with jokes, impressions and lighthearted insults about those they knew. When Voko wanted to become a healer, it was obvious that Valis would follow him and become one as well.
Years passed at the Healer Hall, the brothers were nothing less than good pupils. While Vokonis stuck to his semi-this, semi-that personality, Valisdion stood out. He got louder, more popular, and Voko didn't mind. He was proud! He was desperately proud of his baby brother, his best friend. When Valis' friends asked him to do something for them, he did it so that they'd think Valis had a cool older brother. This continued over time to the point where Voko was left alone unless they were being taught or Valis needed help with his homework. This was fine, he was sad, yes, sad that his best friend was leaving him alone for other people, but it was fine. He was proud, and that was all that mattered.
They graduated a year apart, Vokonis first. He came home to Fort Weyr, saw his parents, talked to his sisters for a little bit, then started working. It was easy to help others, easy for him to bend backwards to get them back on their feet. When Valisdion came back, he had more of a personality. It was not that he was better, no, Voko was better, it was that he was more chatty. He was the favorite of the two. Years passed, the two either working in tandem again or seperating themselves even more, almost like an accordion.
He was tired of being overshadowed, it was like poison seeping into his soul. He transferred to Semaca as soon as its existance became evident to him. It was new, he'd be alone, away from his brother, his family, and allowed to be himself. He was ready to heal those who needed his help in an entirely new place all together.
