FULL APPEARANCE:
Cua is pretty average in terms of body type for a teenager. His hair and eyes are a bit muted in color and his clothing usually matches. No point it keeping tidy near the ocean and beaches. His hair can get pretty wild, hanging over his eyes and just long enough he can pull it back with a tie. He usually keeps a band across his forehead to keep it contained enough so that he wont be visually impaired when doing things.
His clothing is generally raggy looking, not to the point of being in tatters but certainly nothing new. Usually in linen or cotton cloth and leathers. He usually prefers clothing that isn't very 'flowy', save for his pants. His are actually too large as he seems to be drowning in them, for a purpose, of course. Ample pocket space and such~ He also tends to have little bags and purses across his belt at all times.
Cua once had two pierced ears, but now he only has one, with a bright metal band hanging from the lobe of his right ear. His left ear is missing the bottom section of lobe from an 'accident'. His left eyebrow also has a minor bare patch in it.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Cua is a troublemaker. Always has been and always will be. He generally likes to cause mischief and push the buttons of those around him, or those that he feels are 'too stiff'. It's very rare to see him with a different expression other than a cheeky grin stretching from ear to ear, though generally a very snarky or occasionally cruel one. He likes to crack jokes, sometimes at the expense of others and he has no problem laughing or sniggering aloud at something he finds amusing.
Cua is pretty laid-back as he goes about his day. He is capable of hard work, but it's not uncommon to see him reclining somewhere high on a stack of crates, arms behind his head as he enjoys himself. Afterall, that is something very important to him: his own self amusement. If he doesn't see much fun in something, it will be very hard to convince him it's worth while. The same goes opposite as well, in that he can easily get into trouble for the sake of some quick fun.
While Cua isn't necessarily a 'bad' individual, atleast not in the sense that he actively enjoys seeing people suffering or cruel for cruelty's sake, he isn't keen on stern authoritative figures. He doesn't take things they say very seriously nor does he hold them in very high regard. He'll listen to someone who has earned his respect, and not because they merely claim themselves important. He sees no issue blowing things off if he can justify something better to do (even if it's just for himself).
Cua has been lucky so far in that he has yet to face any serious repercussions for his actions. Being verbally scolded and mildly punished with chores is nothing to him, nothing to make him change his behaviors anyway. Do his punished time, then back to the fun crimes~
As expected, Cua is not above 'swiping' things. He has a penchant for 'shiny sparkly things', and with quick nimble fingers, he makes easy work of items not being watched very well. It's more of a game to him, as he enjoys a challenge. Picking locks and squeezing into tight dark places? Sounds like a reasonable way to spend the day! Quick, quiet, and unassuming is how he likes to work. He knows he's no powerhouse, and is more prone for a quick and hard-followed escape than putting up a physical fight.
He tends to have a soft spot for animals, compared to people.

BIRTHPLACE: Minor Hold near the coast
HISTORY:
Cua was born near the sea, to a modest minor Hold and to a modest type of family. His father served as a local blacksmith, hammering sheets and bits of metal into all useful types of everyday items. Important work, and a career he hoped any children he were blessed with to follow suit with. As expected, Cua was not interested in this at all.
Ever since he could walk, Cua was determined to do what he wished and when he wished it. Stubborn more than spoiled, despite the constant reprimanding from both his parents. No amount of yelling, punishments, chores, denied outside time, could seem to reach the boy in an impactful way. So, this is where his problematic pursuits began to flourish.
When he was denied to go outside, Cua learned how to sneak and find his way out of even the tightest quarters. When he was denied snacks or meals, he learned to swipe from the pantry. The constant barrage of scolding and yelling only made him more immune to listening to it. Cua merely learned to laugh and go about his business. His parents were at a bit of a loss at what to do.
Eventually, his father took to dragging the boy to his work to keep a constant eye on him. He hoped that perhaps seeing him at his task would inspire his son with better behavior and a path to upstanding adulthood. This did have some success, but only to the most minor degree. Cua certainly took interest, but mostly on how things worked, and how they were put together. He liked seeing mere pieces of things come together to become something useful, like window and door frames and locks for chests. Pots and cookware utterly bored him though. However, once he'd seen the processes enough times, Cua grew bored and uninterested, which quickly prompted him to go about his own business. While his father made great efforts to bring him back on numerous occassions, it eventually came down that the man didn't have the time or patience to bother anymore. He had work to get done each day and his son was proving to be impossible.
When able to, Cua spent a lot of his time along the docks and port. There was always bustling activity, which he found exciting, and there was a lot of things a troublemaker like himself could weasel into unnoticed. It became a fun game to sneak peaks into the crates of cargo and to swipe occasional trinkets from vendors when they had their attention elsewhere. It was easy to do so in all the chaos of it, but Cua only improved when he attained himself an accomplice when he was 10 turns old.
His parents, despite their constant plights with him, gifted him a firelizard egg as a nameday present. Perhaps being responsible for something would straighten him out. The egg promptly hatched into a plucky little green, and Cua adored her and named her Coco. From day one, he brought her on all his misadventures and began to train her to act accordingly in the art of distraction and swiping. Now with a loyal cohort at his side, Cua felt invincible (despite all his crimes so far amounting to mere petty thefts) and wanted up his game.
As the turns moved on, Cua took to improving his self-learned skills. Swiping shinier and prettier trinkets, popping locks on sturdy chests, and undoing windows and doors without breaking them: his father's trade skills finally giving him aid. Sometimes he'd take a souvenir and sometimes he didn't, Cua mostly enjoyed the thrill of it.
One day, an unusual ship came to port when he was 16. It was minimally manned on deck and what came off and on was very hush-hush. Most people in the Hold didn't pay it too much mind, but Cua was fascinated, so of course, that night he thought to pay a visit. Sneaking in, he found lots of shiny and sparkly things below deck. That seemed strange for such a commonplace ship. Upon looking further, he found a collection of locked chests and let curiosity get the better of him. In one, he found a few strange looking eggs, not dragon or wher ones sadly, but he thought to have one regardless. Unfortunately, a bit of clumsiness got him caught by the ship's captain.
A sea worn and tough looking man, Cua, for once, actually felt a bit of fear for what the consequences of this encounter would be. However, upon looking over the boy's deeds, the captain only laughed, finding amusement in it, strangely. In reality, the captain was not of the normal savory-sailor sort, and was more impressed with Cua's ability in thievery more than he was angry. With promise (and a decent amount of threat) to keep the contents and type of ship it was a secret, the captain sent Cua off, letting him keep the egg as some hard earned booty. Not wanting to chance himself anymore, Cua rushed to a safe spot he had for himself, to look after his new prize.
After a few days of care, his egg hatched. It was no firelizard this time, but a wherry! It was much nicer than the more common variety seen in markets and kept for food. Dark black feathers tipped with red, it was a magnificent creature. Though relatively unintelligent, unlike his gremlin of a green, and a bit more jumpy and temperamental, Cua took to him regardless and vice versa. It took a lot of work and training, but Cua found getting the wherry to a tame enough state to be a worthwhile challenge. Even if it took him over 2 turns and still with kinks to work out... A work in progress.
Eventually, a familiar looking ship returned to the Hold once again. Having kept his word to not speak of it to anyone, Cua made a beeline for it regardless. Afterall, taking a look inside did not count as tattling, he told himself. The captain, spotting him immediately this time, offered him some news of down south. Knowing the boy's potential, the captain explained of how useful someone with his 'talents' could prove on the Semacan continent, especially within the right group of people. Surely it would be far more fun than his current existence in the Hold, destined to eventually become a boring and productive member of society. Cua didn't need to hear more. Taking his firelizard, his wherry, and as much of his horded treasures as he could fit on his person, he agreed to follow the captain when they sailed south.
