FULL APPEARANCE:
Conway is a rather tall man who is not particularly muscular. He does his best to keep himself looking as handsome as he possibly can. He dresses well, cleans up well, and keeps his hair styled enough that it takes the least amount of effort possible in the morning. His blonde hair has some wavy curls that fall in front of his forehead, some even daring to fall in front of his eyes.
His most defining physical trait is his shark-like grin. He tends to smile so wide that you can see both rows of his teeth. He has no blemishes, freckles, moles, birthmarks, or even scars, to speak of. Something very noticeable about his appearance is the singular, very shiny, jewel-encrusted earring that No-Name snatched up during a raid that hangs from his left ear (free event minor trait). He only has one of the set.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Conway is a hard worker who prides himself on his intelligence. He tries to learn as much as he can from as many people as he can. He tries to present himself as elegant and confident when he speaks to others, but with the way he phrases things it can often come off as him thinking he's better than you. Which he does, but he doesn't intend to come off like that. He truly believes that he's destined for some sort of greatness but isn't exactly sure what kind of greatness yet.
He enjoys being a cocky shithead for no reason other than it brings him joy. Pitting people against each other and watching the fallout has been something he's enjoyed since childhood, and he often tells lies about himself and others to confuse and/or disrupt. He has no real emotional sensitivity towards people and definitely isn't loyal to anyone. Although, when he is 'on the clock', you won't find him lying or doing anything to disrupt his work.
He isn't a fan of draconic creatures. He isn't afraid of them or envious of them or anything like that, he just sees them as a waste of his own time.

BIRTHPLACE: Ista Sea Hold
HISTORY:
Conway's parents met at Ista Weyr after becoming journeymen. After working together making maps, they fell in love and decided to settle down somewhere where maps were better needed, like Ista Sea Hold. Their family began soon after.
The second of six children of crafters, Conway was introduced to what both parents did from a very young age. His parents encouraged all their children to do what he wanted to with their lives... but they were a little biased and definitely tried to push their kids towards either being Scribes or Starsmiths. Conway learned a lot about the basics of stars, maps, telescopes, as well as how to read and write, from his parents very early on.
As a child, he liked to tell lies to his siblings to start fights between them. Tell Lydia that Waylon said this or that mean thing about her, or tell Coral that Diana and Landon did something she wanted to do without her. It always made him laugh, even when it came back to him and a fight started between him and the rest of them. These fights had a new added flavor when he was given a brown flit for his 11th nameday who liked to steal things. Now when his flit- who never really got a name- stole something, he could say that one of his siblings had taken something and hide the stolen object in their belongings. It was always great fun for him.
Conway always showed a great interest in the activities of a scribe or a starsmith, but never felt too drawn towards them as careers. He just couldn't see himself making a living off them, he'd always feel too cooped up or too bored. Plus, there was always one thing holding him back, his proximity to the sea. While his siblings either became crafters or were searched to become riders, once he was old enough to work, Conway found himself drawn to the seafarer's life. His knowledge of maps and stars proved him to be a great navigator and he ended up doing more of that on the boats than hard labor. He spent around a decade doing that and enjoyed it... but was never fully satisfied.
He had a bit of a quarter-life crisis when he was 25 when the concept of his own identity started really floating around in his head. It took a little while, but he finally figured it out and settled it. He wasn't a man... but he did feel man-adjacent. Non-Binary, but masculine. It put his brain to rest about the whole ordeal.
When he was 26, a pirate ship rolled into port. He felt pulled to it, like maybe this was the job he was supposed to do. He offered his service as a navigator and general seafarer to the pirates and was accepted as a member of their crew. Since then, he has been enjoying the pirate life. His little flit brings him lots and lots of shiny things whenever they pull into a port and steal whatever they want, such as his fancy shmancy earring that No-Name took from a rich holder's daughter. Now they're stuck at Semaca. Great. He doesn't particularly like Semaca, it's not his style... but his crew is there, so he's there too.
