My Wher's a Bully [Open]

Warsk shook his head as he thought, puzzled by the enigma of human entertainment. Humans hard to understand. No chase or chew. Maybe brain game good. And work out body... He trailed off as he thought. Maybe bury things for humans find. Give clues.

Edward let out a long breath as he watched the whers. "I'm not sure it's good, either. Though I guess if I have to get relegated to a pet, at least I'm a well cared for one."

Noses stupid, Wysrisk pointed out, sniffing pointedly. She could find her way around by scent alone, but human noises were weak to the point of uselessness. Need other clues. Weak senses. And never mind that she was blind. Make very obvious. For dumb human senses.

"At least there's that," Wysril agreed. Treats? And games? Wasn't he the one supposed to be supplying this for Wysrisk, not the other way around?

"I guess we'll have to get used to seeing more of each other. I'm not sure either of us could persuade our whers otherwise." Edward observed, chuckling softly.

Warsk nodded his enthusiastic agreement to Wysrisk. Very stupid senses. He concurred. But maybe riddle? Good for human brain, and human brains usually less stupid than human noses.

Or...some of them. He looked critically at his own handler. Maybe easy riddles to start with.

"I think they're best friends already," Wysril observed. He shifted a little at that, uncertain that they should encourage this - but whers weren't dragons. Unlike their larger kin, whers remembered. And Wysril, at least, had a great deal of trouble standing up to Wysrisk.

Wysrisk tilted her head to the side slightly, thoughtful. Riddles good. Exercise soft brains. She was not entirely certain that Wysril's brain would be up to the task, but maybe eventually she'd get him thinking properly. Start small. Easy. Learn eventually.

"It's good for Warsk to have a friend, but I admit I never thought I'd see him bond over the care and keeping of humans. There's no shifting him, though, when he's determined."
Edward sighed softly. "I would have let him keep a kitten if I'd known I'd become the pet, instead."

Warsk rumbled softly. Definitely start small. Human head big, but brain need grow first. Some not use brain enough, and it shrivel like fruit in hot sun. But Edward was small, maybe his could only grow so much, like the rest of him.

Need us take care, Wysrisk observed. Fight Thread. Protect. Guard. She bared her teeth in what might have passed as a grin. Small, soft, weak. Wherlets stronger.

Still, the idea of helping them be less disappointing was definitely attractive. Wysrisk was aware that Wysril intended to try for a second wher, and while she was not wholly onboard with the idea, there was the potential that the new wher wouldn't be entirely useless and might help Wysrisk wrangle their handler.

Twinkletoes need grow brain, she agreed. Need exercise body. Need exercise mind. Then Twinkletoes keep up!

Wysril groaned. He wasn't particularly out of shape, really! In fact, he was rather on the slim side. "A kitten would definitely have been a better choice than this. Or maybe a flit. Do you think it's too late to find some firelizard eggs to distract them from training us?"
