Party Time [Daylight]

After yesterday's drill, Sy'rei had announced a wing-exclusive celebration at the lake. It wasn't mandatory, but highly encouraged. Either way, she gave them today off. Hopefully, she could build some morale in her wing. They were fragmented, especially as she'd taken over for Z'osh. She imagined many Z'osh supporters in her wing resented her. While she wasn't fond of them, either, a wing needed to function.

So, she'd gotten what amounted to a small feast, a buffet of food from the kitchens, for a lunchtime event. She'd told them the celebration was due to their success in a threadfall last week, and a much needed reward for all their hard work. Really, it was to get them bonding, get them feeling like a cohesive unit.

She'd gotten a harper or two to play music, and had a small space for dancing, should anyone wish to. It was like a small party, a gather, and she looked forward to it. She could only hope they all came...

Lena, for one, was happy for the distraction. Z'osh might have been gone, but that didn't mean the tensions at Fort were any lower. A party sounded positively amazing after such a stressful time. She skipped her way down to the lakeshore, Kintokith following with just as much excitement in his body language. The pair looked like they didn't have a care in the world, and for at least now, Lena wanted to believe as much.

Sy'rei!" She called, waving as she came to a stop nearby.

Someone had arrived. That was a good sign. Sy'rei grinned at Lena, waving as the woman approached, before greeting her with a simple, "Hello, hello, darling!"

She hoped others came, but she wasn't sure how they would feel about it. For now, it was just her and Lena, which...at least someone came, right? "Feel free to eat as much as you like, dear. There's plenty of food and there's dancing to be done." Even if it was only her and Lena, she'd still have fun. A chance to forget about the trauma the Weyr had sustained during Z'osh's rule was always welcome. Lena and Sy'rei had similar opinions on the whole thing, so there wouldn't be much need for repair, but she still looked forward to the woman's company.

Kintokith, it's looooovely to see you as well, Asrakaerth added, a smooth oil in her voice. Even the energetic blue could be of some use, even if Sy'rei had Asrakaerth promising to be on her best behavior.

Alerae loved any excuse to dress up fancy, so when her new wingleader told them they were having a party for the wing, she was excited. While Z'osh led the wing, she had figured it was best to keep her head down and do as she told. Being hold-bred, she was more on the Traditional side, but not enough of a fanatic about it to publicly support the Traditionalist faction. Sy'rei seemed to have a vastly different idea of how to run a wing, and Alerae was still happy to follow her.

Why you insist on this silly affair instead of tending to your duty is beyond me Willomath told her with a huff.

"Quiet, darling, and let me be pretty for once." she replied, unfazed, as she looked through her meager closet for something suitable. Finally deciding, she dressed quickly and styled her hair in a semi-elaborate braid. Some riders kept their hair short, but she was very much against losing her long, black tresses.

Deeming herself ready, she went to Willomath, who had moved to the ledge and waited for her rider to mount. Come along then she said with a sigh.

Alerae went to mount her dragon, then exclaimed in dismay. Her lovely dress would not allow her sit astride without showing a scandalous(to her) amount of leg, and she didn't particularly want to walk to the lake. Willomath huffed and shook her head. "Try and fly carefully" Alerae said after a momentary pause to think. "I'll try sitting to the side." She could still strap herself in. Mostly. She clambered up and settled herself as carefully as she could on the ridges of Willomath's back. "Alright, I'm ready."

Willomath dropped off the ledge and snapped her wings open, almost unseating her poor rider. Alerae smacked the Green's shoulder in annoyance and rolled her eyes.

The flight was short and Willomath was more careful with her landing to not jostle Alerae.

"Hello Wingleader, and Lana." She greeted the two as she arrived.

A greeting to you Asrakaerth and Kintokith Willomath said to the dragons simultaneously.
