Wow. This girl really had no sense of joy in her heart, did she? "I am trying to thank you for your gallantry and chivalry in my most trying hour!" Miguel said, dragging a hand down his face. "A simple 'hey, thanks for saving my frozen butt by letting me use your blanket' isn't going to cut it! Such an act deserves a reward befitting of the generosity! It deserves at least a catchy chorus to inflict on the other candidates." Great deeds deserved to be praised! And Miguel wasn't delusional, he knew it hadn't been that big a deal, he was hardly going to die after that short of an exposure, but he'd still been grateful, and in his mind that warranted something.
"Hey, maybe the point for you was to watch someone jump into a frozen lake, but I wanted someone there as a witness to tell the tale! I could tell you all of my valiant deeds, but where's the fun in telling something like that yourself?" Miguel could crow about his acts until the watchwhers came home, and some of them might've even been true, but that was just bragging, and no one liked a braggart. Miguel was a born hype man, but even a hype man needed a hype man from time to time.
He grinned hugely when Sheridan started talking him up. "Yeah! Now you're getting it!"
