Carthusia had seen him around. An older man, fit and fine. Well, fine enough for someone of the male persuasion. Relatively easy on the eyes. She'd heard he was on the upper end of the age limit for candidacy and hadn't yet Impressed, so Carey thought she was in (relatively) good company.

She'd waited a few days before approaching him in the candidate barracks halls, making sure to have done up her hair as best she could, given the circumstances. (Really, she deserved a weyr with a sparkling dragon and a vanity at the very least. She deserved it!)

"Alistair, right?" she asked, fluttering her eyes as she spoke. "I hope I'm not bothering you. I was hoping... could we talk? For just a bit. Unless you're busy?"
