Bath Browsing [Open]

Daedra let out a sigh as she sunk down into the warm water. While the cold winter had released High Reaches from its grip, as it did every turn, the redhead still found the early spring months to be still too cold. For her anyway, as she disliked the frigid air in general. Leaning back against a relatively flat bit of stone, she let herself relax and enjoy the pleasant sensation of the warm water and rising steam. It was relatively quiet, with the only sound of the mildly rippling water of the baths to grace her ears. Calming and melodic, almost like a gentle rain.

What a perfect time to come~

Letting her eyes shut, a self indulgent smile pulled at her lips and she basked in it. Perhaps to another, this might not seem like a grand event, but it was more than enough to make the petite woman almost shake herself in giddy excitement as she took in the experience. Normally baths were a hurried and crowded affair. Something to do and hurry out to avoid causing any hold up or inconvenience, but currently... it seemed like almost no one was around. And of course, it had not been her idea initially...

“Okay, I'll concede on this one, Drask. I'm glad you were so insistent we come,” Daedra called out, not even bothering to turn her head or open her eyes towards whom she addressed. There was no point, as she knew he heard. Plopped close to the entrance of the bathing caverns, slumped the rather large form of Drask. Much like his handler, he let himself splay on the stone floor, enjoying the sensation of the warm steamy air as it drifted about the area. He liked balmy heat, and had been in the mood for a bit of it. As usual, the wher only replied with the vaguest rumbles.

It wasn't a human that graced their presence, but something small and blue and winged. Something small like a bat flung itself around the corner, uttering small chitterings. But it was awkward and uneven. Unacquainted with flight long enough to master it, the thing aimed a little too hard to the left and pivoted straight into a rock wall. Then it was falling, and splashing into the warm water!

It languished there for a little bit, appearing lifeless at first as it floated with its belly up. Then it squawked. The blue rolled, wings splaying wide in the water and floating there motionlessly. Whirling eyes settled from the impact, but they fixed on Drask and fear settled into his expression. Suddenly he had a reason to remain still.

Then there was a voice echoing down the halls - young and child-like. "Whirrlllyy, where'd ya go?"

A sudden 'ploop' in the water caused Daedra to sit up from her relaxed slump. The sound hadn't been loud, nor was the water disturbed more than usual, so she thought that maybe something had slipped in. A wash basin or a soap block, perhaps a scrub brush from somewhere. Curiously, Daedra took a glance around—perhaps someone had some in and dropped something. Except, her eyes widened when she noticed something floating nearby atop the water.

Daedra didn't recognize the initial shape, as it seemed terribly small, but it was far too big to be an insect or similar. Regardless, she wasted little time in springing to action and trying to scoop whatever it was out of the bath. The redhead was a bit concerned, as the form was very prone, and when she drew close enough, her face sank as she realized it was a very small firelizard.

“Oh no....poor thing,” she crooned quietly, doing her best to gently cup the pitiful creature from the water with her two hands. She had to imagine it was someone's little pet... as it was very rare for feral firelizards to get into the inner parts of the Weyr. So, she hoped even moreso that what she assumed as the worst outcome... wasn't actually so.

As Daedra set the small flit on the dry section surrounding the bath, her eyes momentarily shifted towards where Drask was. She was tempted to try and coax the firelizard with some vocals but....well, perhaps alerting Drask to a flit in such a state would not be a grand idea.

Fortunately, Drask continued to remain like a large brown blob towards the more open area of the bath cavern. It seemed the firelizard's size was keeping him indifferent. That and he was probably much too invested in his nap to be bothered....

When she heard the splash, Raev looked up from the spot near the water where she was washing herself. The giddy kid she had seen come in earlier that was too wholeheartedly excited about a bath was now trying to cup a firelizard that was floating in the water.

Great, I try and get a quiet bath in, and now we're going to have a whole thing here, aren't we? she grumbled to herself. She looked down, going back to her washing and doing her best to stay uninvolved. This was her alone time, and she was going to enjoy her bath, alone.

What thing? Rask come see? The garnet inquired from her spot outside the bathing caverns.

No, Rask, Raev sighed as she called the wher off. Just some kid messing with a flit. Nothing to see. Take a nap, I'll be out in a while.

The little blue gazed at the hands encircling him. He wasn't all perturbed - after all this lady was being all calm and kind of nice. But that big blob of gray had to belong to somebody, right? Maybe it was her. He wasn't about to tangle with that, and chittered anxiously while backpedaling in an attempt to escape. Too little, too late. His writhing form wriggled like a mass of worms.

"Whirly!" The little voice was getting louder, bouncing off great rock walls. Sasha rounded the corner. She was instantly hit by a bout of steam that sent her backwards. Once her eyes adjusted she could see people ... and a big thing ... and - "WHIRLY! If you just wanted to swim why didn'cha say so?"

Modesty? Nonsense! Sasha flung ragged clothes to the side and jumped into the bath. Waves! Splashes! The tyke was up to her nose in the liquid as she waded over. Whirly, aware of his 'master', took no hesitation and leaping onto her head - an action that caused her to bob below the surface for just a second.

She emerged with a big gulp of air. "Whooh don't do that!"
