Finch could tell as soon as Aaneth awoke that morning that it would be today that she would rise. For almost a sevenday, she'd been increasingly restless, until she could hardly focus on her tasks, which did nothing to improve her mood. Like a spotty in a cage, Aaneth paced at her ledge, tail lashing in her agitation. Finch took care to steer clear, quietly drinking some klah within her weyr, knowing her green needed her space...and hoping her missing scarves would reappear soon, once a certain scarf thief had found her usual sense of calm.

Until something shifted in Aaneth's demeanor, signaling Finch through a rush of emotions and an intense need to fly that she had decided to rise. Finch, I must fly, Aaneth murmured, pausing in her tracks to look to her bonded. Finch smiled and nodded. Go on, she acknowledged, moving to lock her door, to indicate she wasn't interested in company. Perhaps you'll find a lady that catches your interest. Well, she'll need to catch me first, Aaneth insisted, but she didn't wait to hear Finch's answer; she was ready.

Dropping from her ledge, Aaneth soared high into High Reaches' skies, a dark green arrow against a powerful afternoon sun. But her hide glowed brilliantly, beautifully, as though to rival Rukbat itself. Aaneth did not pause to blood; she didn't intend to prolong things beyond her own natural strength. Hear me, High Reaches! she bellowed, wings spread wide to catch a draft, to buoy her higher into glory. Those who think themselves worthy, prove yourselves to me!

Aaneth was a very pretty dragon and, while she was not a garnet, Rinisath was interested in chasing her. Jacek noticed his dragon pacing back and forth before chuckling, "I'm not going to stop you, Rinisath. Go and have fun." The garnet let out an excited sound, quickly nuzzling her face against her rider's before beginning to take off.

She was a bit of a slow riser, but she did her best to take flight after the green, "Aaneth, you are so pretty! I wish I was as pretty as you are!" Of course, this was something Rinisath thought about a lot of other female dragons, being fond of them and enjoying chasing them.

Garnet Hyliath

Hyliath and her rider were very different in some respects. One fell in love very easily, and the other rose very infrequently. But every once in a while, when another lady dragon rose, especially when she called for other lady chasers, Hyliath found her interest piqued.

Mine, perhaps you'd like to find a lady to spend some time with? There is a green rising, and I think I should like to chase her.

"Seriously?" Diamond asked, slightly excited, but she deflated almost immediately. "Oh, what's the use, though?" she asked, flopping back down on the bed. "It's always the same. You find a nice girl, but she's only interested in a one night stand or a flight encounter, and then I end up with a broken heart again."

Hyliath sighed. Skud, be a dear and make sure she doesn't mope around here while I'm out? She doesn't have to find a girl, but a walk might do her some good. With a squawk of acknowledgement, the odd-colored flit started buzzing around Diamond's head, tugging on her hair and clothes in an effort to get her to sit up off the bed. Leaving the pair to it, Hyliath took off from her perch, going straight into a dive to gain some speed before rising into the air after the green. Good day to you, Aaneth. I am Hyliath, and I am quite worthy to chase any who would care to rise. And quite prepared to back it up as well. She executed a barrel roll to prove her point. It was not as tight or impressive as a green's would've been, but she wasn't a green, and she rather thought it was more than adequate for a garnet.

Typically, Liralith didn't feel very strongly about flights. She would rise, she would occasionally chase, but at the end of the day it wasn't anything serious. Such was her thought when Aaneth called for chasers, and she lifted her head curiously. Aaneth. She rises.

V'dar looked up from his book, his own head tilting in similar curiosity. "You don't need my permission. Go if you want."

Liralith snorted. I believe I will. Standing, the Green walked to the weyr ledge and spread her wings, taking to the sky with one beat, two beats. Good afternoon, Aaneth. I won't have any trouble proving myself, I assure you. I chase at your pleasure. She said, catching a current that brought her closer to the other Green. It would be a good flight.
