Surprise! She's baby. [Fel]

To one side of the cliffs, weyr caves built into the rock gaze out over a warm, sandy desert; on the other, caves can look upon the lush but dangerous treetops of the jungle below. Either way, home is where the heart is.

Surprise! She's baby. [Fel]

Two days, it had been two days since her Impression. She'd been thinking about Kaladin, wondering about his future, how he would feel about Impressing a dragon of his own. He, like Glory, deserved a dragon. They deserved to feel the glee that she felt, the joy of being a rider. Of having someone they could trust. Faranth knew, someone like Kaladin could use someone to trust. He seemed like her, in that regard. Despite her friendly nature and open chattiness, she rarely trusted others.

No one but Crimioth, in fact, could be trusted not to harm her.

She hoped that bringing the tiny dragonet to visit would be welcome, rather than a slap in the face. Viiox, in reality, had no idea how this conversation would go, but as she stood outside his door, she took a deep breath. She tried to push the worries out of her mind. Would Kaladin resent her? Would Kaladin like Crimioth? Would Crimioth remind Kaladin of candidacy? She didn't know. But she enjoyed his company, and hoped he enjoyed hers too.

Viiox shifted the tiny green in her arms, calling out to him. "Hey! Kaladin!" she said, cheerfully, despite any concerns or insecurities that might say otherwise. "It's your friend, Viiox. I brought someone. You're going to love her!" She grinned. He'd likely guess that it was Crimioth, but no reason to spoil the 'surprise.' Not everyone would carry their dragon to someone's room, not even if that dragon was small. After all...even the tiniest green was still unwieldy.

When we get inside, you'll have to set me down! Crimioth added, no matter how well she was tolerating her present circumstances.

Kaladin was just glad the Hatching was over. He'd gone back to sleep and he'd been able to set the occasional pangs of regret he'd felt during it out of his mind. That wasn't what he was meant to be, in the end. He'd flung himself back into his work; with the recent spotty attacks, the wall was more important than ever.

At the end of two days he was tired and sore and grateful that the exhaustion allowed for little else beyond meals and bathing. If he was too tired to think, then he couldn't wonder what might have been.

He was enjoying working on a small arrangement of rocks and cut flowers on his desk when shje knock and Viiox's voice startled him.

"So long as it's not a kitten, come in. The door isn't locked." He had a strong suspicion that it was a dragon, not a kitten.

Viiox looked at the door, then at the dragon in her arms. With a reluctant sigh, she placed Crimioth on the ground, so she could open the door. "Don't like kittens? Hey, maybe I should get you a pet. But no! This is Crimioth. My dragon!" Pride colored her voice as she entered.

That's me. It's nice to meet you. This grumpy man was the one that Viiox had spoken so highly of, on their way to meet him? Well, she had some tact, and she dipped her head, despite the poor welcome. She'd give him a chance. Viiox said you're one of her closest friends, but she's also said that about a lot of people.

"Oh, come on. There's Kaladin, Glory, Arena, Xan..." Viiox laughed. She made friends easily, at least on her end, even if she didn't actually trust any of them not to hurt her.

"So..." A coy look crossed her face, teasing and smug. "When are you returning to candidacy?" Was it a sore subject? Maybe. But if Kaladin Impressed...well, she'd love to fight thread alongside him. Make a difference alongside someone who had opinions similar to her, even if she hadn't actually shared her deeper opinions and thoughts yet.
