FULL APPEARANCE:
Roni is a tall young man who can't wait for his final growth spurts to hit so he can be the tallest sibling. He enjoys being fashionable enough to want to look good at all times, but not enough to be a trend setter. He maybe relies on his dimples a little too much if he doesn't think the rest of his appearance looks good, but he'll change his wardrobe rather than be seen in something now considered 'ugly'. While some in his family would continue to wear clothes until they were barely fit for rags, Roni has no problem getting new clothes.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Roni is a people person. He's an extrovert in every sense of the word, and he'll talk to anyone. (Except the people he finds most attractive. Can't talk to them!) Anyone, as long as the conversation doesn't get too personal, that is. He does not like to open up and be vulnerable due to the controversy his family is regrettably known for. He has no hesitation in claiming his family, but Faranth forbid anyone expect a truthful answer about how he's feeling. Maybe he himself doesn't know. He does not sit and examine his feelings to know what's truly going on with himself. Understandably, he doesn't have a lot of close friends.
He does have a lot of acquaintances, though, and there's a decent chance that if you need something, he knows a guy. He would like to believe that he's the kind of guy that everyone owes a favor, but he mostly just has a good memory and he talks to a lot of people. To be owed a lot of favors, you have to do a lot of favors, and Roni does not like to do favors. He's not inherently selfish, he doesn't think, but he also does not think that feelings are something to be honest about. Feelings are something you hide, didn't you know? That's why everything comes out of nowhere, like his half-siblings becoming dragonriders and his full sister becoming a traitor.
Despite this cynicism, Roni does have one defining trait - he wants his own dragon. He fell in love with dragonkind when he and his family first went to Fort Weyr for Geromal's Hatching Feast, and the desire had never gone away. That's why he pays close attention in his candidacy lessons, and why he takes every failure personally. In his heart of hearts, he wants a brown. He won't turn anything down, but he wants a brown over any other color.
A brown would give him the position, authority, and courage to talk to the various people he finds attractive, or so he thinks, because a brown is right on that edge of big and powerful without being overbearing like a bronze. At least the bronze in his family is like that. Why not a garnet? He's got Pepper! It's not good logic anyway you look at it.

HISTORY:
Geroni, better known as Roni, grew up surrounded by controversy. He was very young when his half-sister stole a runner and abandoned the family, earning them scorn. The scandal was only increased when his half-brother was Searched and Impressed a dragon few people in the hold had heard of.
He was not quite eight when his mother attacked his father with a cooking implement and stole him and his siblings away to the weyr. It was not an easy transition for any of them, and everyone reacted differently to the move. The two oldest became Harpers, albeit for different reasons, but his younger brother, Little Gerry, probably had the worst time of it. It was his shenanigans which led to events that brought the first wher into the family.
Everyone reacted differently to the move, from the two oldest who became Harpers (for different reasons) to the younger ones who had to stay weyrbrats until they were old enough to be deemed useful to the weyr.
Roni, on the other hand, became enamored of dragon kind. He decided when he was nine that he wanted to be a rider and even the turbulent events at Fort have not swayed his mind. In preparation for candidacy, he endeavored to Impress a fire lizard. Weyrbrats had the ability to stand for clutches without being Searched, but Geroni wanted a little reassurance that he could Impress. A fire lizard was a good start. He obtained an egg from a Gather and worked hard to train the temperamental garnet inside.
Controversy was never far from their family, so the theft of Neozeoth's clutch did not hit Roni as hard as it hit his half-brother G'er. What was another scandal? That side of the family was always doing something, be it Impressing a bronze as a woman or riding a clutching dragon as a man. Roni didn't take it personally until his older sister turned out to be responsible for the theft. He loves his sister, but he doesn't feel like he knows her anymore. Norelli is not the same person as N'ell, though he couldn't say why.
