FULL APPEARANCE: Kalin will never be the most physically imposing man by any means. Despite his turns, he still has that look of his body not filling out fully, like he is all limbs. It's when someone takes that second look that his presence comes out.
He has a strong face, a fierce face. His blue eyes seem to flash with savage laughter. His is a face that is meant to dominate, not be pitied. His skin is smooth and pale, fitting well to his white-blonde hair and blue eyes.
He is a stickler for his dress. His clothes must be clean and well fitted. He favors darker colors like burgundy or navy.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
At first, Kalin comes across as a cold hearted and unapproachable man. He can be domineering to those he sees as beneath him and stern with his family and peers. As one gets to know him though, it's made obvious that he is full of strong emotion.
Kalin is firmly of the mind that the ends justify the means. He won't hesitate to sacrifice others or even himself for what he deems to be a better world. He will always stand up for what he believes in, and will be a voice for those who who can't stand up for themselves.
Family is everything to Kalin. He spent his younger days watching out for his siblings. Part of the reason for his transfer to Fort was to check on T'rin.

HISTORY:
Kalin was the second born of a pair of drudges at Fort Hold. They didn't have much, but they made due. He was happy to make do with less so that his family would have more. He was very withdrawn as a youth, keeping his head down and doing what work he was assigned.
As he grew older, he grew more outspoken, especially for the "little man". He got in trouble for it on more than one occasion. His parents tried their best to make up for his transgressions, but even they could only do so much and eventually just resorted to keeping Kalin out of the way as much as possible.
He Impressed to Insk in 2762. He found Insk's egg in the wild and couldn't bear to see the poor thing fail to thrive. He never really saw himself as a Wher Handler, but Insk bonded to him immediately.
After Evander found out that he bonded to Insk, the Lord Holder pressured Kalin into joining his squad of enforcers. Kalin lasted in that for less than a week. Instead, he chose to run. He found himself a quiet cothold to settle at and bided his time.
A few turns after Evander died, Kalin made his way back to his family. He found while he was gone, his sister who had been Searched and Impressed a dragon. He hadn't been there to help her. His life returned much to as it had been, with the addition of Insk.
Coming from a family of Drudges, Kalin was lucky enough to find out about the planned rebellion and get out of Fort. He found a position at the Weyr, which would also allow him to check on T'rin
So that's what he did. Of course, with his luck, Z'osh the Traditionalist rose to power shortly after he arrived. He did his best to fight for the "lesser" dragons and Whers where he could. His regime didn't last forever though and Tuckal even started asking for opinions from the Wherhandlers. Win win in Kalin's book.
Life at Fort was relatively quiet after that, and he didn't do much except his basic duties since.
