The most recent ships have included several candidates transferring from Fort, driven away by the recent wher attack. They...uh...do realize where they ARE, in the land of spotties and pirates, right? I'll give them two days before they flee back north.

It was still light out, but only just so. Worrell could come out here and dip his toes in the water without rubbing his bleary eyes, although he could thank the hot k'lah for the alertness in his gaze and the pep in his step.

"Aww, don't be like that!" he called in a sandpapery voice that sounded remarkably ... buzzy, like a bee. "Don't give 'em too much a hard time! All the pirate folk need is some good grog to make 'em happy. And spotties? Pssh. Here, kitty kitty! Give 'em a PSA and they'll do good."

Spotties not impressive, Worrsk stated while peering into the grotto's depths. Small frogs leaped between pebbles, disappearing with splashes and bubbles. The green licked her lips. Whers impressive! Make felines tuck tails n' run!
