FULL APPEARANCE: The first thing one sees when they look at Thor is his sheer size. He's big and strong and he knows it. Thor is not a subtle man. His body language is arrogant, his voice loud and booming. He typically dresses in fighting clothes, sometimes silver armor paired with a red cape, sometimes lighter practice clothes. He looks like someone who can take a punch and he is. His preferred weapon is a large warhammer too heavy for many other men to even lift, let alone swing.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Thor is a fighter, through and through. Born and raised to defend his hold from all threats, he doesn't back down and greatly enjoys a good brawl. He's a proud man, not one to let an insult go unanswered. He's not much of a planner, often reacting on impulse. Someone insulted his mother? Threatened his hold? There's only one answer in his mind and that's to hit them and hit them hard until they learn not to cross him. In Thor's mind, violence is always the solution when dealing with equals. That said, he only enjoys fighting with those who can defend themselves and will not attack the weak and vulnerable.
When he's not fighting, Thor is surprisingly good natured. He enjoys a good drink and talking shit with friends. He is arrogant, very arrogant, convinced his fighting skills are all he needs...but he also cares. About the world. His friends. His family. As much as he's a fighter, Thor is also a born protector, the two roles in his mind on and the same. Thor can be fairly gullible. He's a straightforward man with no patience for intricate schemes and he tends to assume the best of his friends and family. It will take him far longer than it should to recognize betrayal and even when he is betrayed, he will continue holding out hope for reconciliation. Loyalty is as much a part of Thor's nature as violence and he will never give up on one of his.
Thor does has his moral rules but he's not philosophical about them. He won't leave a colleague behind, won't punch someone who can't take it and will always defend his family's good name. He has a decent heart, but a decent heart isn't always enough. He's more brawn than brains and without Loki there to advise him, is likely to get into the sort of trouble he can't escape.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Father: Odin
Mother: Frigg
Adopted Brother: Loki
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Asgard, a small hold outside High Reaches
TW: Violence
HISTORY: Thor was born in Asgard, a small but prosperous hold high in the mountains outside High Reaches. It was a stark and remote but beautiful land, its wealth coming from its skilled guards and expert smiths, who plied their crafts for the marks the hold needed to feed itself.
Thor had a brother, a small, dark-haired, too-clever boy named Loki. His father treated them both as his sons, never even mentioning that Loki was adopted. Thor considered his brother his best friend. They did everything together, learning side by side under their father's tutelage.
But the time came when their fates would diverge. Thor was declared his father's heir, the future lord of Asgard. Loki was envious and when the holdless tried to raid their treasury, as they often did, he for once didn't talk his brother out of going after them. Thor and a group of his friends found the holdless camp and slaughtered each and every one of the bandits.
Thor's father was furious. There was a reason they had never attacked these holdless in their own dens. They had powerful allies and this far from other holds, Asgard had only its own warriors to defend it. When the leader of the bandits' allies threatened to break the truce that kept them from overrunning Asgard, Odin banished Thor to keep the peace, at Loki's urging.
Thor went to High Reaches Weyr, on Loki's counsel. He could continue defending his hold from there and perhaps he'd make a good dragon rider. There were worse ideas. Thor was so lucky to have such a caring brother.
