FULL APPEARANCE: Sage will mature into a slender, graceful woman...but for now she's still in that awkward stage of all elbows and knees and too-big-feet that seem to constantly get in the way. Her style of clothing is feminine and understated and would be quite pretty, were it not perpetually stained with wherry blood or tomato juice or some other unmentionable from her kitchen adventures. She has a smile for just about everyone and her eyes are soft and kind.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Sage is a homebody and a caretaker. She prefers the comfort of home and hearth, surrounded by loving friends and family, to excitement and adventure. She's a kind woman, with a helping hand for everyone, who can become a bit of a doormat when she thinks she's needed. Sage is on the quiet side and a bit shy, not because she dislikes people (in fact Sage likes most people very much) but because she feels awkward and uninteresting and can never seem to think of anything to talk about...She's not the sort to go off chasing trouble and would much rather be the one waiting with snacks when the grand raiding party returns than lead said party herself.
Sage's generally unassuming and quiet nature is why most people are surprised to learn she was the one who decided to make tunnelsnake kebabs and spotted feline stew and a whole list of far-too-exotic recipes just about no one actually wants to try. She has an artist's soul and her results are often quite good, but she tends to forget that it's not all just meat and some people would be uncomfortable trying equine thank you very much...even if it did die naturally. It seems silly to her. Why not experiment with the whole range of delightful flavors the world has on offer? While Sage can be a bit skittish outside the kitchen, when she's got her cooking knife, everything is just another potential ingredient.

Father: Liften, Journeyman Healer
Several siblings
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None yet but she's always hoping
BIRTHPLACE: Healer Hall
HISTORY: Sage was born to a happy, stable family at Healer Hall. She was a middle child, never the favorite, but never forgotten, and her childhood was unremarkable. She was a mediocre student, with no particular gift for healing and a distaste for blood...Except for when it came to the kitchens. Cooking fascinated her from an early age and everything that looked so scary and distasteful in the outside world (from said blood to sharp knives) was suddenly just a tool to be used in creating a masterpiece.
When Sage came of apprenticing age, her parents sent her away, to train under the head chef at Fort Hold. They missed her and wrote her and visited her often, but they wanted what was best for her and what was best, they decided, was for her to train under the most skilled and reputable chef they could find.
Sage did well in the hold, although she disliked being confined to recipes the Blood found palatable. She missed experimenting with flavors and ingredients. So when she heard Semaca was opening up for weyrfolk, she decided to go. They would need cooks, after all, and the South would have all sorts of fun new ingredients for her to experiment with.
To her surprise, she was also offered a spot in Semaca's fledging candidate program. She wasn't sure if she was actually qualified or if they just needed people...But she agreed. Because clearly they wanted her to do it and it was a small enough thing to agree to. Didn't every child dream of riding a dragon?
And then she Impressed, her first time standing, at Semaca's second clutch. To brown Wisketoth, a prickly dragon whose common sense she admires but who she suspects is going to try to drag into far more than she's up for...
