PLAY-BY: Taron Egerton
FULL APPEARANCE: Lithe and unassuming, Lucian is an easy one to underestimate. He keeps his cards close to his chest, as far as his strengths go. Most of this lies in his agility. Lithe and quick, he takes full use of this to get himself out of sticky situations. He isn't built big and thick like some other fighters. He can punch, and take a punch, thinks to the muscles he's built up over the turns, but he prefers to dart away instead. His skin is healthy, when it's not covered in bruises in various rates of healing. He has scars of all shapes and sizes littering his skin. There is a large one under his ribs on the right side.
He has brown hair that is edging on dirty blonde that is usually kept short. His eyes are shrewd and hazel, nothing really spectacular about them. He keeps his facial hair shaved. Sometimes, on lazy weeks, he has stubble, but he will never allow himself to grow more than that. He dresses casually, preferring comfort to anything else.
PERSONALITY
TW: Mentions of drinking; fighting
PERSONALITY: Luci is loud, irreverent and unpredictable. He's quick to anger and that anger burns brightly, but very quickly. The man is brash and bold, and blunt. He has no problem telling people what he thinks of them, and has no problem standing his ground if he needs to. The young man has boundless energy and always must be doing something. He lives a very indulgent lifestyle, drinking and fighting being his two main vices.
Luci always needs to...feel...something.
He will flirt with anyone and everyone he finds attractive. No position is sacred to the young man. He is also very persistent, but backs off quickly if the object of his affection isn't receptive. There is a very fine line between platonic and sexual affection when it comes to Luci. Since he never had normal relationships, as a child, actions that may seem extremely intimate to some are very casual to him, he's extremely tactile and clingy in this way. Sex is not automatically linked to romantic feelings in his mind, and romance is something that he can't even imagine. He may run away from feelings or commitment that scares him.
For all he seems to wear his personality on his sleeve, he really doesn't. He will weave fantastic stories about his past to anyone who cares to listen, but they will rarely hold a shred of truth. What really matters to him...and his past, those are buried deeply, and Lucian has very high, very thick walls. The real Lucian, the one he keeps buried inside, is combative and angry. Volatile and crude, but if someone can get through, they will find a vicious protector, loyal to the end.

BIRTHPLACE: Ista Weyr
TW: mental issues, drinking, gambling, fighting, kidnapping
HISTORY:Born in Ista weyr, Luci was a very difficult child. He loved his parents, but he was combative and defiant from the very beginning. He didn't openly defy the status quo, but he couldn't understand the way things were and he questioned thing constantly.
His parents were riders, his mother on a blue and his father a brown. Having a child was never really part of the plan, and such a difficult one to boot. Luci was stuck in the creche almost immediately. As a result, he was not close to either of his parents. They loved him, in their own way, but his bitterness and recklessness kept them at bay emotionally. Inwardly, Lucian always longed for the love and approval of his parents, but he never really got it, and he was too stubborn to ask for it. So, for the first few turns of his life, he grew increasingly angrier.
Something was bound to break, and the tension between Luci and his parents was coming to a head. Luckily, for all involved, when Luci was eight, his mother had another child. Talulah was weak from birth, small and frail. She also happened to be one of the sweetest creatures on earth, and Lucian found himself caring for her in a way he never could for his parents, which was all for the best, honestly. Their parents had already shown their penchant for seeming cold towards their first child, and Lulu was not an exception. She was not as hale as her brother, in body, or mind, and, also put in the creche upon birth, began to cling to Lucian, her stalwart protector.
Now he had someone to live for, someone to stay strong for. And as they got older, Lulu became Lucian's everything. He was determined, then, to give Lulu the life his parents seemed disinclined to give either of them. There was only one thing in his mind, protecting Lulu. She was young and very fragile, and, it seemed, no one in the creche gave her the time and attention she needed, she just had too many eccentricities. Luican, himself, seemed better adjusted, but he just hid his trauma inside; knitted his broken pieces together with false bravado and irreverent humor. They both grew up in the creche. Lucian had always been on the edge though, and was still very defiant. He ran away enough that eventually, the crecheworkers just stopped looking for him, especially when he was told enough to look after himself.
It seemed Luician would just become another lost boy.
He started gambling, trying to earn money to keep his sister happy. She was well fed in the creche, but they couldn't account for her mental issues, and Lucian visited her often. He'd bring her dresses and toys over the turns. He was young and not very good at it at first, and he lost more than he won, but over the turns he got better, and also had to learn to fight as his winning increased.
Luci was sixteen when he realized that he could fight for marks, and he started gambling less and less. He was agile and scrappy, and his past of hard labor made him surprisingly strong. Most of his opponents underestimated him, and he started making a name for himself within the seedier parts of the weyr quickly. When he was older, he started drinking, using it to numb the pain and then getting into more fights when he couldn't feel.
Lucian was a mess.
And things were getting even worse. He became too cocky, losing more bets than he won...though he did win a firelizard egg once, which hatched a sassy little gold he named Amoreena. He ran out of things to gamble, and he was losing more fights. He'd already let it slip that he had a sister, and a few of the people he'd gotten himself involved with decided that they wanted her.
When Lucian was 21 and Lulu was 13, some men kidnapped her from the creche one evening. Lucian fought them fiercely, but there were too many of them and he fell to the ground, bleeding and helpless as they took his screaming sister away, on a ship across the sea. He at first went to his parents. They were disappointed that he had managed to get their daughter kidnapped and promised that they'd look for her, but they didn't seem as concerned as he thought that they should have been. That angered the young man. Luci closed in on himself then, drinking and fighting, feeling completely useless. He no longer had a care for his own life. It was around this time he found a little feral kitten that began to follow him around. Ree took to him right away and began to feed the creature bits of meat. Lucian would name him Hercules.
He probably would have died if he hadn't been approached about standing for candidacy. He might have been a mess, and very weak at that time in his life, but he wasn't weak, Amoreena was quick to tell him. At first, he didn't want to try. Why? He wasn't worthy of a dragon...but there was a strength within him. Something inside that didn't want to die. Something that wanted to fight. It didn't help that he had memories of his sister in Ista, so in the end, he decided to join candidacy, just not in Ista. He spoke to the headwoman about transferring somewhere else. He didn't want to think about Lulu, or his parents anymore, and this was as good an opportunity as any to start anew.
