FULL APPEARANCE: Although self-conscious of her looks, Mi'wa is actually quite pretty. She has a sweet face, with large brown eyes and soft honey blonde hair frequently worn in braids tied with pretty ribbons. Her build is a bit fuller than most riders and looks soft, but she's more muscular and stronger than she appears. Mi'wa has a lucky bracelet she wears most places, with a simple silver charm. Mi'wa is prone to blushing, especially around boys she finds attractive. It is not subtle. Mi'wa's voice is very high and expressive.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Mi'wa is gentle and kind. She likes taking care of people and is often the one reminding her friends to be careful and look after themselves. She's pretty accepting and is willing to be friends with anyone who wants to be her friend and treats her kindly. She is very sweet, but not the smartest or the bravest. She never had a memory for formations and finds threadfighting tactics hard to keep straight. She gets scared in unfamiliar situations and needs to be reminded to take deep breaths and not panic. She does manage to rally and be strong, however, when there's someone more vulnerable who needs her. She cares a lot about her friends and family and especially Ephiith. She also loves tasty food, especially when shared with people she cares about, although she sometimes worries about gaining weight from all the treats. Her and Ephiith have snacktime together often and she tries to encourage Ephiith to eat more snacks that are healthy for dragons, usually unsuccessfully. Mi'wa doesn't like it when people are fighting and wishes everyone would just get along. She can be a bit superstitious and has some silly rituals she goes through because she thinks they'll bring her good luck.
Mi'wa loves talking about romance even though she's shy with boys. She's a romantic at heart- eager to pair her friends with anyone who crosses their paths, sometimes with very little evidence. She believes in love at first sight and destined encounters. She loves hearing about other people's romances and will ask some fairly personal questions, albeit a little shyly. This extends to Ephiith, who Mi'wa hopes will someday fall in love with one of her flight winners. She knows falling in love isn't something dragons usually do, but it's so nice, like a warm blanket, and she wants that for Ephiith. She only gets really embarrassed only when talking about people she herself might like. Mi'wa has many crushes, but she doesn't necessarily expect much to come of them and doesn't really want to go into the details. She doesn't limit herself to one object of affection, although some crushes are more serious than others. She fully admits she loves love even if she's just watching from afar. Mi'wa is very obvious about who she likes, to the point it may make some people uncomfortable. She'll talk to them whenever she can and try to learn everything about them and what they are looking for in turn. She gets a bit awkward and clingy in her excitement to be talking to them. Mi'wa has never actually been involved with anyone, but she's always hoping.
Mi'wa has a soft spot for children and small, cute animals of all sorts, but especially felines. She leaves out food for felines when she can and usually carries treats with her. She gets very excited to see them. If Mi'wa hadn't Impressed, she thinks she would have liked working in the creche.

HISTORY: Mikowa was born at High Reaches Weyr, to a pair of weyrmated weyrfolk, in the twilight of Golre's rule. As neither of her parents was a rider or handler, they raised her themselves, although she still spent plenty of time in the creche with the other weyrbrats.
Mikowa was still quite young when Golre fell and remembers little of life under her. Her parents as weyrfolk were spared the worst of her excesses and rarely spoke of those turns. She had a peaceful, happy, largely uneventful childhood, in a weyr growing ever more free.
When Mikowa turned 15, she entered candidacy alongside her friends. She didn't have any rider relatives, but her friends all dreamed of dragons, as did many of the cute boys Mikowa enjoyed admiring from afar. Mikowa didn't think particularly carefully what it meant to be a rider or whether she'd enjoy fighting thread. It just felt like the natural next step in her life, because everyone else was doing it and baby dragons were cute and she guessed it would be fun to go flying on her very own dragon...
Mikowa's first clutch was Aldoeith's only clutch at High Reaches. All the eggs were big and gold and High Reaches desperately needed a new queen. The second egg to hatch was that gold, who to the surprise of all Impressed a man. Almost equally surprising, at least to her, Mikowa Impressed in the same clutch to Ephiith, an energetic green who knocked over multiple candidates before enthusiastically barreling into Mikowa and deciding she was the one. Despite this somewhat inauspicious start, the two soon became the best of friends, sharing snacks and sunlit afternoons and long nights staying up and talking.
Life with Ephiith was everything Mi'wa could have ever wanted, until they had to fight thread for the first time in the weyrling wing. Mi'wa found the experience terrifying and overwhelming. Her weyrling class at High Reaches was the last to be allowed to transfer, but only if they decided before entering the wings.
Mi'wa had never considered leaving High Reaches before. Her entire life and all her friends and family were there. But threadfall scared her and she wasn't sure she could handle fighting it until Ephiith turned five. So she requested a transfer to Semaca. Some of her childhood friends decided to join her for the adventure and she brought along her favorite feline from the High Reaches storerooms, determined to build the happiest life she could at Semaca.
Mi'wa joined Chopin Squad, a decision that made both her and Ephiith happy. Mi'wa was relieved not to have to risk her life on a daily basis and Ephiith enjoyed all the opportunities to help people and to fly fast carrying lots of rocks and bricks. She was a big strong dragon, doing big strong dragon things. Their life at Semaca so far has been a quiet one, but mostly a good one too.
