FULL APPEARANCE:
Teia is a woman who is rather light on the eyes, or so she has heard in the past. She stands at an average height, her frame curvy with a slight muscle dotting her frame. Her skin is deep tan and her eyes are a dark brown in hue, almost black looking in the right light. Her face is angular with a strong rounded chin, plush lips and a nose that she feels sometimes is a bit too big for her face.
Her hair is a dark brown, thick as wool and very curly, a real unruly mop at times that she will often sweep to one side or attempt to tie back while doing her duties. A myriad of scars dance along her arms and one on her right shoulder, the results of a very active child that tended to explore and climb, with mixed results.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Teia is a very passionate person in about everything she does. As a rider, as a person and just in general, everything is met with confidence, vigor and determination and a stubbornness to complete things she starts, no matter how hard it may be or if failure stares her in the face. This passion for successes and to be seen as capable often overrides the more reasonable voice in her head and she is known to make reckless and risky choices because she thinks she always has the right of any situation. This can cause her to often butt heads with others and even her own dragon, earning her more than a few lectures and with her dragon, it was teeth.
Even as she ages, she has never lost her passion for being outside, exploring and her desire to be a hero that she thinks Pern needs. Her sense of confidence in herself sometimes borderlines on egotistical and she is a woman that does not sugar coat things, she will tell someone if she thinks they are being foolish, cowardly and the like. Despite being an blunt and at times an abrasive woman, Teia does enjoy socializing and making friends and if she considers someone a friend, she will always have their back, no matter what it takes, which can be a point of contention with her dragon over her attentions, given Hellfith's jealous nature.
Turns of being bonded to Hellfith has given Teia a sense of how to combat the the jealous and the overprotective nature of her dragon by assuring her that no matter how close she gets to another human, her dragon will always come first in her mind.

HISTORY:
Andarateia as she was born as, was the second daughter and child born to a pair of farmers four years after her elder sister. Unlike her obedient and quiet older sibling, Teia ( as she preferred to be called) was a wild child. She thrived being outside, active and climbing, boy did she love climbing everything from the moment she started walking. Trees, their family home, the barn, it didn't matter. As expected there were accidents, such as when she fell from a taller tree and the branches she hit on the way down tore into her arm, leaving several long and somewhat deep gashes in them long after they healed.
As she grew and began to come into her own, she knew what she wanted, she wanted to serve Pern, on the back of a dragon. Her frequent trips to the weyr alongside her family had made this desire even stronger as she watched the dragons coming and going. So she bided her time, and working on the farm with her family had made her physically stronger, even a bit more bulky than most young ladies her age. Her time came during a visit to Fort Weyr proper with just her father this time. They had come to sell off some of the extra bounty from harvest that season and she was off looking at fabrics and bables to obtain a nameday gift for her elder sister when she turned and noticed a blue dragon nearby had turned his gaze on her.
She tilted her head curiously and then the rider approached her as she rejoined her father. After a bit of conversation, she was searched and as soon as she could, she packed her few items and before she left, she was gifted a firelizard egg from her mother, whose own firelizard had a small clutch of them. She named the little one Cantori and the two became inseparable ( except when they had to).
During her years as a candidate, she enjoyed learning about what would be expected of a rider, dragon studies and the like. She found that she enjoyed socializing with her peers as well and tried to even befriend some of her fellow candidates, hoping to someday impress alongside them. But as she stood again and again, she was not chosen, and she began to worry as she edged closer and closer to aging out.
When gold North's maiden clutch was on the sands, she was looking forward to touching the eggs as she always did, hoping her partner was in there somewhere. But due to worries about Nornth's violence, there was no Touching and Teia was both worried and frustrated a bit. Would this mean these dragons got no sense of who they wanted? What if they.. spirits forbid.. betweened?
Hoping that this would not be the case and worried, especially with the paranoia and guards placed around the clutch to prevent any access, sabotage or anything that would hurt the eggs or the theft of them. The first few eggs seemed to hatch without any issues, even if the babies within did take their time picking their person. The blue was a lovely color and as it passed through their line several times, she waited with baited breath but then the baby impressed to Kreta, a candidate whom she didn't really know well but at the very least, she tried to remember names and faces, because it would be rude not to and who knew which ones someday might be her classmates as weyrlings?
Seething Flame then began to quake and shake violently and then all but exploded from the shell and stumbled slightly before she got to her feet. Teia found her stunning, like living flame but did not have much time to really think further as she noticed the whirling yellows of her eyes, the roar and panicked charge. A moment later, blood on the sand, as she bit a fellow candidate, and then vaulted off with a loud shriek and through more candidates before she made a stop slamming right into Teia. She expected at first to get bit but before she could process that and reclaim the wind into her lungs, the garnet was thundering ino her mind.
They're STARING! They're judging us and I won't let them. Make them forsking stop or I'll do it myself!
Well.. that was certainly an entrance. She was not sure what to do at first for this dragon, so her first instinct was the same sort of thing she did when her baby siblings were terrified of storms, she gently rubbed the dragon's back. " Its gonna be fine, you will be fine. You just gotta calm down a bit and focus. No one is gonna hurt you or judge you. If so, I will deal with them." Teia replied and the garnet looked at her for a moment with a slight glare then her eyes shifted to a calmer green then whirled with rainbows. The impression was not at all how Teia imagined she would impress but hey, she sure impressed alright.
" You promised, can we forsking go now?" Hellfith hissed in her mind, teeth gnashing slightly. " I cant really move with you sitting on me you realize." She responded and the dragon snorted in irritation and stepped back, stubbornly staying in Teia's personal space regardless. As their connection fully solidified, she was nearly knocked back emotionally by the storm of emotions from this very angry but anxious dragonet. She willed her own mind to buckle down this flood that was clearly Hellfith meshing with her own mind and focused on something that could be easier for both to process... her need to feed.
" Come on Hellfith, let's get you fed and soon we can be off this sands and away from prying eyes ok?" She offered and the garnet sat stubbornly for a moment, her eyes flashing between red and yellow before she decided that hunger was indeed winning over her desire to scratch out all those judgy annoying prying eyes. As the pair left the candidate line, Teia offered an apology to the candidate her dragon bit, feeling like it was the right thing to do.
At least while her dragon fed, she could sort her own feeling out right now, and boy did she have more than a few. But gone was the worry she was going to age out, she had a dragon now and as she took the time to gaze at her, what a beauty she was, like living flame itself.
As a pair, the both of them would often butt heads over how something should be done, Hellfith digging her claws in and sometimes her teeth in, but as time went on, the pair began to show that while they did not always agree on things and were not as close knit as some pairs, they would get their task done, no matter what it took.
The pair was definitely not the best suited for constantly working with groups in a traditional sense but when it came to thread and a task set before them to achieve, they would function like a well oiled machine, and it was here that Hellfith showed her capability, paired with Teia's natural determination and willingness to bend or break rules if it led to them achieving what they set out to do.
But weathering her Garnet's fierce personality is a challenge even to current turn for Teia but honestly.. she would not have it any other way. The challenge thrilled her and she would never dream of being bonded to any other dragon.
