Candidate Housing Information

• All candidates live in the barracks and at least theoretically have a roommate, but a cot may sit empty for a time. Someone who proves hard to live with may find themselves with an empty cot more often than other candidates.
• At Semaca, there are no formal barracks so candidates live in resident rooms, but they still usually have to share
• There are only two candidates per room
• A candidate does not lose their room while traveling to stand at a clutch at another weyr unless they Impress.
• Wher candidates live in their own part of the Candidate barracks because of different schedules and do not usually room with dual or dragon candidates
• Trans candidates live according to their true gender (ex. Transwomen are women and housed as such) although care is taken not to room them with transphobic candidates.
• All candidates are asked who they are comfortable rooming with and placed accordingly (men, women and/or NB folks). This answer is private and confidential.
• Candidates can request to room with a friend if friend has an open cot
• Candidates are generally encouraged to work problems with their roommate out between themselves but if squabbles continue, one of the candidates may be assigned a different cot. How quickly that happens depends on the Candidate master
• OOCly, if you want a certain roommate or a room switch- just ask. So long as all involved players are good with it, staff will make it so.
• These interactions do not need to be played out but can be used as RP hooks or background info.
• Your candidate can room with an NPC if requested
