FULL APPEARANCE: Even after a decade of riding, Ce'na is a little on the scrawny side for a rider. She'll never be the strongest, but she's pretty quick and light on her feet. She's well trained enough that she can hold her own in a fight if push to shove, even if she's rarely able to physically overpower her opponent. Ce'na has pale skin, which rarely tans in the High Reaches climate, and brown hair she keeps long but typically ties back, out of her way. Her eyes are a bright hazel. Ce'na generally dresses practically in riding leathers or sensible boots and trousers, but isn't opposed to dressing up when the occasion arises.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Ce'na is outspoken and irreverent. She doesn't have much respect for formalities or hierarchies and doesn't have much of a filter when it comes to speaking her mind or cracking jokes she thinks are funny. She has a snarky sense of humor, which can slip out at the most awkward possible times, especially when Ce'na is uncomfortable and trying to defuse the situation with humor. Ce'na dislikes people who seem too uptight or obsequious and will do her best to irritate them to see if she can make them crack, just because she can.
Ce'na has a good heart and does her best to do the right thing most of the time, but also doesn't have any problem twisting a few rules for her own benefit or screwing over people she thinks deserve it. She likes nice things and her creature comforts and isn't ashamed of it. Ce'na isn't the bravest of riders. She wants to do her part to protect Pern, but she'd rather not die doing it and resents being pushed into dangerous missions when there might be another way.
Ce'na has a taste for adventure, although she'd prefer those adventures not get too dangerous. She can be impulsive and doesn't always think things through and has landed herself in her share of hot water through lack of foresight, something she usually regrets after the fact. She's more of an emotional than logical thinker and tends to follow her instincts, which aren't always good ones. Noath can usually talk her down and keep her on the straight and narrow.
Ce'na loves her people deeply, which at the moment is Noath, her mom, Tivva and Risha. She's loyal and so long as they are good to her and respect her own wishes, she'll overlook them being a bit of a dick to other people, provided they don't go too far. She is affectionate and open with her feelings. She'd like to fall in love someday and have a weyrmate of her own. Casual flings aren't really her thing and she'd rather wait for someone willing to commit to her before falling too hard.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mother: Tivvena
Older Sister: Tivva
Older Sister Figure: Risha
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Trading caravan on the roads surrounded Fort
HISTORY: Cevettena's mother was a trader, who had once been a holder, before her hold was destroyed by riders in the war. Her father was a holder whose home still stood, who never took any further interest in her or her mother. Known as Vette as a child, she grew up in a caravan traveling Fortian territory, alongside her older sister and the other caravan children. One of those children was the caravan leader's daughter, Risha, a few turns older than the Vette, who Vette came to see as a second older sister.
Vette had a happy childhood, seeing new and exciting places, with new trouble and adventures awaiting at every stop. Hers wasn't always the most ethical of caravans. Life on the road was hard. They smuggled goods of dubious origin when the pay was good enough and scammed their share of customers, when the reward was worth the risk. When Vette came of age, she did the same without much guilt. Vette did her best not to hurt struggling people just trying to get by, but she didn't see any shame in bending the rules a little or getting what she could from assholes who had it coming anyway. What did it matter if she pretended that fabric had been sewed by a famous masterweaver if the customer never knew the difference?
When Vette was in her early 20s, while selling a rider a jug of cheap wine labeled as premium Benden red, Vette was told she had the potential to be a candidate. Vette had always been a bit wary of dragon riders due to the whole fiery reign of destruction during the war thing but also appreciated not dying to thread. It was complicated. After a bit of thought, she decided to give it a try. She wasn't entirely sure how she felt about it but rider riches and power sounded nice. Why knock it until you’ve tried it?
Vette Impressed first time standing to Noath, a very bronze-y bronze of uptight attitude and high expectations, who called her Ce'na, because she was his rider now and Ce'na was a rider's name. Ce'na didn't think much of Noath at first. He was uptight and pushy and kept trying to make her take weyrlinghood way too seriously. Over the course of weyrlinghood, however, Ce'na learned Noath had a good heart beneath it all and was more willing than she'd thought to bend the rules when it mattered. She softened to him and the pair became found family over the turns.
When Ce'na graduated, her mentor gave her a firelizard egg as a graduation present, which hatched a brown she named Malavai, who Ce'na always suspected like Noath more than her. A couple of turns later, Ce'na found a firelizard clutch on the beach while on a trip to Ista. She took the prettiest egg, which hatched a sweet green she named Jaesa. A few turns after that, Ce'na won a third firelizard egg as a prize in a gather game (which she may have cheated at using her knowledge from her turns as a trader). The egg hatched a boisterous blue Ce'na named Pierce. A young white fluffy feline showed up in her weyr, sniffing after Pierce's hoard of uneaten scraps. He was pretty cute, so Ce'na let him stay and called him Broonmark, even though he was never the friendliest of felines.
With Noath to keep her focused and on track, Ce'na grew into a fine rider. Her ambitions were simple ones. Ce'na didn't dream of being a weyrleader and didn't want anyone to expect too much of her. All she wanted was to not die horribly in threadfall or war, live comfortably, make some friends and maybe someday find a weyrmate who loved her. She did her best to stay out of politics and trouble. Ce'na had no interest in traditionalist ideas, as a female bronzerider with no real interest in leading anyone. When Z'osh took over, with the support of some of Ce'na's wingmates, she started to think Fort Weyr might not be for her. Even after he was driven from power, Ce'na couldn't forget that some of her wingmates and neighbors had supported him. These political sentiments had been stewing for a long time and Ce'na wasn't entirely sure they would ever really go away.
Ce'na liked the idea of Semaca, somewhere warm, where things weren't as uptight and stuffy and threadfall was mild. Noath disapproved. They were riders and had a duty to protect Pern, which they could not fulfill in the south with only pirates to protect. Because they were a team and Ce'na didn't want to make him miserable, the pair stayed at Fort for a few more turns, before ultimately agreeing to a compromise of High Reaches, a weyr that seemed potentially to both their liking and badly in need of more helping hands.
