ACM E’nome of Blue Belleroth

Mm? E’nome glanced up from pruning her little plot in the kitchen gardens, her interest caught by the draconic summons. That mindvoice definitely wasn’t Belleroth’s, as grumpy as it sounded. Her blue was presently snoozing on their weyrledge, for the most part uninterested in E’nome’s morning routine—which usually began with tending to a patch of the gardens, before she’d then tackle her unending list of daily tasks.

Bubbles chirruped excitedly from her shoulder, a sudden flurry of jumbled images inserting themselves into E’nome’s clever mind as the little green leapt into flight. “Bubs! Where’re you going, dear—?” She murmured, even as the cheery—and cheeky!—flit abruptly disappeared between.

E’nome sighed and sat back on her haunches, her fingertips already coated in a fine layer of crumbly earth, as she mentally sorted through Bubbles’ pictures. Once the jumbled images were in order, and that paired with what the grumpy dragon had said.. Ah. So that’s where that cheeky little sweetheart of hers had gone. “A flit hatching! Of course.”

She chuckled, rising to her feet as she quickly dusted off her hands. Looks like somebody wants a new friend. Well, it couldn’t hurt to have an extra helping hand, in the form of an second firelizard..

Mm, Belleroth, how does a second flit sound, my dear? E’nome sent, the bluerider already hurriedly ambling off on her way to find this Sakura’s weyr. A sleepy rumble answered the smiling woman, followed by: …Fine. That sounds fine. Please don’t let it be an annoyingly chirpy climber; I get enough of that already from Bubbles. I’m not a firelizard playground, you know! E’nome’s eyes twinkled merrily at that, though she was by now inside the Weyr’s caverns.

Some time later, a familiar chirping drew her in to the open entryway of Sakura’s weyr; and E’nome promptly stepped through to find that several flit-hopefuls were already in the room. Some even holding freshly hatched flits, most of whom Bubbles seemed to be so-very-cheerfully greeting/welcoming into the world from midair. “Ah, Bubbles, there you are, you cheeky sweetheart! Come here.” Her voice was warm and kindly affectionate, though her tone did sharpen somewhat upon the last phrase. The bubbly green immediately obeyed the tacit order, swiftly resettling herself upon Enome’s shoulder once more. She turned to Sakura—whom she’d correctly deduced must be the bluerider standing next to the gold firelizard and her eggs—with a smile. “Hello, you must be Sakura. I’m E’nome of Blue Belleroth, assistant Candidatemaster and Minuet wingrider. These lovely little flits are such a joy, aren’t they? I’d love a second, if it’s not too much trouble, dear?”

A new latecomer had joined the fray, and Sakura turned to meet the gaze of the assistant candidatemaster, jumping a little. She’d been distracted with all the new babies rapidly filling her Weyr with hungry cries. Scrambling to pull an egg from the pot, a deep magenta egg was what E’nome was handed.

“Too much trouble? If anything, you’re helping me out,” she said, not seeing the next egg crack somewhere behind her as her attention focused on the other woman.

This time, it was Mak who ended up with a handful of firelizard. It was another nippy one, though that was more from hunger than anger.



A brown! Small, but seemingly strong, creeling for food with single-minded focus.

Giana of Bronze Goranask - Mak

Fed, Zuu fell asleep in Giana's hands after one last (warning?) nip. Slipping the brilliant orange shell carefully into a pocket, Gi turned her attention back to the hatching firelizards, shifting the tiny flit so she was holding him comfortably. They'd bond more later on (and maybe get Zuu to the point where he was less nippy) but for right now the baby needed sleep.

Gi wondered briefly if maybe she should go now that she had her flit, but she wasn't sure that she could get out of the weyr without jostling Zuu awake with the current crowd. So she'd wait until it thinned a bit. For now - "Oh, what a lovely brown!" she said to the recipient of the newest flit.

Karaze of Blue Karask- tag... everyone?

"O-oh, thank you!" Karaze replied, bowing slightly as he took hold of the red egg and held it close. There were many other hatchlings by this point, and his shyness began to be overcome by his delight in seeing them all. "They're all wonderful! I've never seen so many baby firelizards at once before, I usually miss these." Happily, he'd become more outgoing since bonding with Karask and required less prompting to reach out to others. It still took some doing, but he was trying hard!

The next egg to hatch would be the one Sakura had handed Z’relli. The flit within seemed to work their way out slowly, but at a steady enough pace to not be worrisome.



A bronze! Definitely on the heavy side, with a bulky build. Despite that, though, he didn’t appear loud or demanding as some of his siblings were. Instead, her chirped at the person holding him, begging for food.

Karlach leaned back and watched with a smile, as all the new babies took in the first sights and smells and tastes of the world. Her little green, have finally gorged itself, was asleep, its belly distended. She was going to need to watch to make sure that appetite didn't get the better of her. Which wasn't going to be easy when she was so cute.

"You're a voracious little forsker, aren't you?" Karlach gave her new firelizard's eyeridges an affectionate scratch, [b]"Don't worry. This is a good place you've come to, with clear skies, sunshine, and the best sharding food you ever tasted. You're going to love it here."

Life was really forsking good sometime.

"Reckon you'll need a name, won't you? What do you think of Hellion? Little too on the nose or just right?"

The last three eggs seemed to hatch in sync, filling the room with the sound of hungry newborn flits.

The first spilled a baby into Karaze’s waiting hands.



A garnet! Irritable, but not nippy.

The next joined his sister by flopping out of his egg in an undignified manner, this time going to E’nome.



A blue! Not the sharpest tool in the shed, and a bit clumsy, but quite cute.

And finally, a small white hatched for Luisa, as curious as they were hungry.



With that, all 11 eggs had safely hatched.

Giana of Bronze Goranask

The last three eggs hatched one on top of the other, garnet and blue and white. Gi couldn't help her excitement over this whole hatching; she'd never attended a hatching of any sort before, seeing as wher hatchings didn't allow spectators and she'd only just gotten to Semaca where there were actually dragons.

But she was getting pretty tired, and Zuu was sleeping in her arms, and this weyr was really crowded. If Gi could manage to get through the crowd and out of the weyr, then she'd head down to her lodge where Goranask was already snoozing away.

"'Cuse me," she murmured, trying to make her way out of Sakura's weyr. "Heading to bed now."
