FULL APPEARANCE:
P'adge is definitely not a small man. He's tall, and on the stocky side, with broad shoulders. For all this though, he's not particularly intimidating; he's not particularly well-muscled, tending mostly toward just softness. He has a very rectangular face, accentuated by the fact that he's very much balding, making it appear to be even longer. The hair he has is mix of light brown and gray, kept cut fairly short, as there's little point to trying to pretend he has more than he does. However, his facial hair (and body hair) has all the thickness that his head hair lacks, and he keeps a full beard, which is for some reason actually red, rather than brown. His eyes are a medium brown color, below unruly eyebrows. His nose is aquiline, and a little larger than might be accepted.
His preferred manner of dress is fairly neat, in simple cuts and understated colors. It's usually free of wrinkles, but most of his shirts are stained with ink around the sleeve cuffs.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
A strong sense of adventure lives in P'adge. He desires little more than to see more of the world, try more new foods. Given the choice between something he's done before and something he hasn't, he'll try the novel thing every time. The strongest of this is, and always has been, the wanderlust; it fuels his love of cartography. He believes that the greatest mark any person can leave on the world is in seeking the unknown, and dreams of someday having songs written about him and his discoveries. He doesn't want to be the best at anything, but just to manage to find something first.
For all that he wants to find something new, he also spends a lot of time looking back. He loves hearing all stories but especially loves learning about history; his favorites are of the people who long ago stood in the same shoes that he does now. He can be fairly introspective, especially on long flights together with only Kelseth, but he doesn't allow this to stop him from being social when he's back at the Weyr. A solitary life isn't really one well lived, in his opinion.
As dedicated as he is to his cartography work, that dedication is often to the point of distraction. He often focuses far too completely on that, neglecting other duties. He also frequently doesn't take well to people trying to interrupt him when he has an ink bottle out, and he'll snap at them in a way he usually regrets later... but that doesn't change his behavior the next time.
