Evelyn is tall and willowy. They have fair skin, light blue eyes, and dark blonde hair that they wear long. They usually pull their hair half back with a bow, to keep it somewhat out of their face, though sometimes they opt for no frills and a plain braid. Their face is angular, though their eyes are large and round. They fastidiously shave their facial hair.
They have a fairly large wardrobe, and alter their style based on how they prefer to present that day. They generally favor feminine clothing in bright colors with a lot of ruffles, though some days they wear more toned-down or masculine clothing. Everything they wear is immaculate; they care deeply about their appearance, and will not be seen as looking slovenly.

Evelyn is the sort of person who makes friends with basically everyone they meet. They just aren't always a very good friend. They're good at getting along with (or sucking up to, as the situation dictates) others, but they prefer others to be a friend to them rather that the other way around. Really, they want fawning sycophants more than they want true friends. They desperately seek praise and approval from all sources, but they'll do so by turning on people the moment they're out of earshot if they think they need to. They'll spread nasty rumors about people who won't be nice to them for any reason.
They're quite shallow, and often make snap first impressions based on personal appearances that are difficult for them to overlook. They're rather spoiled, and can't imagine anyone not being able to keep themselves immaculate without choosing to be a slob. In most regards, they seem to think they're the center of the universe. They don't even like talking about politics, because it's about something that isn't them. They hate conflict, save for that which they intentionally start--though they try not to be personally involved in the actual arguing--and will often try to end arguments when those occur in front of them. It's not out of any sort of altruism, conflict just makes them nervous when they think there's a possibility they could become embroiled in it.
Evelyn is motivated to become a rider by two things: the reverence riders are shown, and the fact that having a dragon would mean they have a guaranteed friend for life. Sure, not every dragon gets along with their rider, but they're certain theirs will.

Evelyn was the product of Flightlust and a mother who wanted children but then decided that her duties as a rider came first. They were raised by the creche, with only infrequent visits from their parents, but they didn't mind. Many of the children around them were raised similarly. They had a normal, happy childhood. They were rarely in too much trouble, because they were good at behaving around adults. They got into occasional spats with the other children, usually after saying something unkind about how someone else was dressed, but they learned to watch what they said more as they grew.
When they turned fifteen, they leaped at the chance to become a Candidate. Everyone loved riders, and they wanted that acclaim for themselves. Plus, they wanted that affirmation that they were good enough--that they deserved it. Sure, Candidates had to do chores that were dirtier and more unpleasant than what younger children did, but that seemed a fair trade for the rest of their life being good... right?
