M'clovin is an outgoing, frequently extremely charming young man when he puts his mind too it--which is often. He loves to be the center of attention, and does his best to ensure it by being sociable and usually overtly flirtatious. He's free with compliments even with those he's not attracted to, and even some men could be forgiven for thinking he might be into them, though he's entirely straight. He can be somewhat misogynistic, valuing pretty women more for their appearance than what they're capable of. Women he doesn't find attractive get treated the same way he treats all men: kindly (and it still doesn't stop him from flirting), but he sees little inherent worth in them unless they prove themselves deserving of it.
M'clovin is quite self-centered, convinced that everyone should acknowledge how great he is and how many people he helps. He's a rider, one of the protectors of Pern, and he's a Healer. How much more saintly can a person be?! He is a rather capable Healer, but is often too distracted by picking up women to be as dedicated to his studies as he should be. He does honestly want to help people beyond just for the sake of the accolades he thinks he deserves and can focus in a crisis, but he often views pretty women as the patients more deserving of his time than anyone else. He does tend to keep his job at least in the back of his mind at all times, and he has a bad habit of telling people they shouldn't do things that he views as being detrimental to their health. He abstains from sweets, fatty foods, and eating shellfish and unidentified plants himself.
M'clovin puts on a bit of a hypermasculine front, never wanting to be seen as "feminine", as he believes he wouldn't make for an attractive woman--and unattractive women aren't valuable. He does openly love cute and fluffy things though, and feels secure in doing so solely because he's pretty sure women find that sort of vulnerability alluring. He adores and spoils his cat, Miss Fluffybutt, though publicly he refers to her solely by the name "Missy".
