[PLOT] Poison

All over High Reaches, people have been falling mysteriously ill--or worse. There's no obvious connection in station, meals, or other activities. However, some of the afflicted have had identifiable symptoms of poisoning. The conclusion to be drawn is obvious: someone has poisoned the Weyr. But what is the source? What is and isn't safe to eat?

Saori was feeling better now that a few days had passed. Not Orisk. Not Orisk.

The frantic nature with which he ransacked the dining hall was palpable. Though his appetite had returned tenfold after spending the first day vomiting his organs up, he could find no mental willpower to force anything down his gullet: both for fear of being poisoned again and because he was nowhere near the mental capacity to regard his own health. Orisk. Orisk.

"There has to be something - hey hey don't eat that!" he called to the nearest person gearing up to dive into their grub. He yanked the plate away and yeeted it at the wall. Mashed tubers and clay shrapnel went flying. "Don't you know it could be tainted?! C'mon - use yer head - "

Orisk was still recovering. The white wher was barely audible in his mind. He couldn't stand well - it was a wonder he could stand at all. Those first few days Saori was sure he was going to die. Orisk ... the only thing left from home. The only family he had left save for Kiba who'd gone off to the Summerlands. Saori could not lose Orisk. He refused. He refused!

He fought back the tears springing to his eyes when the feeble voice called, I ... live ... Worry ... not ...

"I'm gonna beat whoever did this to a pulp," he snarled. "I'll use their blood as a new dye. Mark my words!"
